Since 1972, Ala Costa Centers in Berkeley have been providing services to children and young adults with developmental disabilities in the Berkeley and surrounding areas. Currently there are over 50 students between the ages of 5 - 22 that attend the Berkeley site. There are 5 clasrooms that provide age appropriate activities both in the center and in the community. The Explorers classroom focus on children ages 5 - 12. The Adventurers classroom cater to students ages 12 - 14. The Voyagers classroom are for students 14 - 18. The Apartment and Navigators classrooms provide services for adults 18 - 22.
Throughout the year, the Berkeley program provides afterschool services from 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. During the holidays and summer vacation times when school is out, Ala Costa will try to best match the school's schedule and be open from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. |
